Leeds United recorded the highest ever League Cup Round One attendance on Wednesday evening, with 35,129 supporters turning out for the win over Shrewsbury Town.
There have only ever been two other attendances over the 30,000 mark for a Round One fixture, with the previous highest attendance of 32,314 set back in 1972. Leeds also hold the record for the third best attendance of 30,115, when we hosted Huddersfield Town in 2004.
Almost 250,000 people attended the opening round of fixtures for the Carabao Cup throughout the week, with one tie still to be played, which is a 45% increase compared to last season.
