Eddie Gray said: "We deserved the victory, no doubt about that, but we will need a lot more performances like that to stay up.
"The result is great for our confidence but we have to kick on. We knew it would be difficult against Charlton because they are a good side so we packed the midfield to try and stop them playing and it worked well for us."
Whilst Alan Curbishley added: "Leeds deserved their win. They are fighting for their lives and they came with a game plan that upset our rhythm.
"It was a great boost for them when they scored but I wasn't surprised they took the lead because of the way they started the game.
"They made life hard for us with a five-man midfield and it stopped us playing. But forget excuses, Leeds were well worth the three points."
