The 27-year-old striker joined the Addicks in January on loan from Leeds and has impressed boss Phil Parkinson during his time at The Valley.
Despite being unable to prevent the club from an inevitable drop towards League One, Kandol has done enough personally with a number of workmanlike displays.
That has been enough to persuade Parkinson that the much-travelled frontman is the ideal candidate to spearhead Charlton's promotion push next term. "I'd love to sign him permanently," he told the club's official website.
"He's been excellent and I think he'll get better as well. Despite his age, he hasn't had a lot of League football and I think he's got a lot of attributes."
Charlton have sold their training ground along with other facilities as the club contemplate the ramifications of relegation to League One.
