Earlier this week the Norway international claimed that he did not want to return to his homeland, but agreed to the move yesterday after reaching a deal on a termination package with United.
The 28-year-old moved to Elland Road from Sogndal in May 1999 for £1.75m. His current deal was due to expire at the end of the season.
