The Norwegian international is back at Elland Road following a brief four-month spell in the Premiership with Aston Villa and is determined to play a role as the Whites attempt to regain top-flight status.
"My heart is here and this is where I want to be," said Bakke in the Yorkshire Evening Post, who has returned early for treatment to a minor hamstring complaint.
"I played some games and had a good time at Villa, but I only spent four months there. I've been at Leeds for almost seven years and that's a big part of my life. That is the difference."
Bakke will be available for Leeds from February 1, his loan deal does not officially expire until the end of January, and he is determined to take his Premiership form to the Championship.
"The hamstring is very minor and I'll be available from the start of the next month," he added. "I've played more games than I have for a long time and I feel right. I feel good and strong, I've been working hard and I'm just happy to be back at Leeds and ready to go again. I know I can do a job."
