Barmby said: "My aim is to get back in the first team and keep playing at the highest possible level for as long as possible.
"And I still think I am good enough. I am just as good today as I was two years ago. I never lose faith. I have proved I can do it at the highest level and you never lose your ability, maybe just your legs.
"I am very positive about what I can and can't do and I know I have got the next four or five years ahead of me and I see my future at Leeds United."
