The midfielder returned from his loan spell at Leeds this week after making a total of seven appearances for the Elland Road club.
"We would have liked for Baz to have got a wee bit more game time, but with Simon Grayson searching for results, he's chopped and changed a little bit trying to get a winning formula at Leeds United," McAllister told Villa's website.
"But the big thing for me is we're now in a better position. The manager is advising me as well and we think that if Barry could play a part in the next four games then he can go into them with less pressure than was on him previously.
"We rate Barry highly. We think he's very talented and in fact he showed that again in training. He'll be in the squad."
