The striker was charged after TV cameras featured an elbow on Millwall goalkeeper David Forde in Monday's 2-0 win at Elland Road.
Although match referee Alan Wiley booked Beckford during the incident, subsequent video replays resulted in him being charged.
Beckford has pleaded guilty and apologised to his Leeds team-mates as his actions are set to result in a three-match suspension.
"I would like to apologise to my team-mates and to the fans that I will now miss a number of games," he told the club's official website. "I have every confidence that the players will continue the push up the table, and my only concern now is getting back in the team when my suspension has ended."
Beckford could now miss this weekend's West Yorkshire derby against play-off rivals Huddersfield Town and the forthcoming matches against Hereford and Cheltenham.
