Leeds United midfielder Lee Bowyer will have his £850,000 debt paid by either Arsenal or Liverpool should he quit Elland Road for one of them.
Reports today claim that both clubs are prepared to pay his legal bill as part of a signing-on payment to enable him to leave.
United have insisted that he has to pay them the £850,000 in a lump sum should he leave but if he stays, he can continue to pay the debt off in instalments.
