United are due the money from the Potters as part of the deal that saw striker Richard Cresswell move to the Britannia Stadium last summer.

Ken Bates told Yorkshire Radio: "I'm pleased for Stoke and I wish them well. When they took Richard Cresswell we were on a bonus if they got promotion, so we're delighted."
