Leeds United defender Danny Hay has been shown the door by David O'Leary as he begins breaking down his squad in a cost cutting exercise.
Signed by O'Leary from Perth Glory in 1999 his career at Elland Road has been dogged with injuries and a decision not to renew his contract has been made.
"It's been difficult for the club as I've been injured virtually all the time I've been here, so they can't really offer me a new contract which I understand," said Hay.
