Delph: Absolutely Delighted

Some reports suggested Newcastle United and Everton wanted to sign the 17-year-old but Gary McAllister said: "The club is moving forward now. We recognise producing our own is one way to do that, and he is a fantastic product of the Academy. There have been some big clubs asking about his availability but this has sent out a message."
Delph himself added: "As soon as I was offered the contract I signed. I owe everything to this club. It's where I learnt my trade and where I've grown up.
"I am absolutely delighted. This is the club I want to play for and want to be at. A lot of managers have helped me out. Gary McAllister is always talking to me and giving me pointers. He was a great player and its great to play under him."
