"It was a bolt out of the blue when I was asked to sign release papers. It was all a bit weird. I was hurt badly. It was a question of respect. I am not one of the players on a lot of money.
"They called me in and everybody knows the story. I was just a little hurt, but I said to myself, 'I am going to stay here and that is it.' Now I am proving that I made the right decision.
