The veteran 33-year-old says the experience he has got from over 450 league games will help the Whites, hopefully, to promotion.
Freedman, currently on loan from Crystal Palace, where he gained a lot of experience of the play-offs, said: "When I started out at QPR, Les Ferdinand was in the team. You watched him then asked why he had done certain things and he told you.
"At Nottingham Forest, Pierre van Hooijdonk was a world-class player who was very much under-rated. I picked up so many useful things from these guys.
"Then, towards the end (of my career) people like Ian Wright would tip me off about the way they were thinking. Now I am passing on information to the young strikers at Leeds."
The Whites were booed after their defeat against Cheltenham but Freedman doesn't blame the fans. "I fully understand the crowd's frustration," he added.
"It is how people deal with it that is important. It happens to all players in all divisions and if you can't handle it don't put a pair of boots on.
"As soon as I hang up my boots, I'll be the same, booing people. After all, my young son boos me if I miss a scoring chance!"
