Duberry joined Stoke on a three-month loan deal and the centre-half was due to stay at the Britannia Stadium for another couple of weeks.
But the 29-year-old has been asked to return early because Paul Butler and Clarke Carlisle are both suspended for the FA Cup tie at Birmingham on Saturday.
With both of them suspended, Leeds' only other options in defence include moving Sean Gregan or Simon Walton from midfield.
Duberry was part of the Stoke defence that kept seven consecutive clean sheets last month and he has featured in 15 games for Stoke this season without picking up a single booking.
He is expected to go straight into the Leeds squad for the tie at St Andrews.
