The 28-year-old Icelandic midfielder's current contract was due to run out at the end of the season.
He has not played since dislocating his shoulder in November but could return for the reserves this week.
Einarsson, who signed from Norweigan side Lillestrom in January 2005, said: "I'm very happy with the new deal and that people believe in me."
