The former Stamford, Boston, Crawley & Rotherham boss has signed a deal with Leeds running through until the end of the season and has brought Paul Raynor with him as his assistant.
Uwe Rosler was relieved of his duties yesterday and his assistant Rob Kelly and first team coach Julian Darby have been placed on gardening leave; goalkeeping coach Richard Hartis is staying on.
Evans now has his assistant in place, but has permission from owner Massimo Cellino to bring in another coach as he shapes his own team.
"I've got permission from the president to add another member to the coaching staff", he revealed to LUTV.
Evans also praised the quality of the backroom staff already in place at Elland Road, feeling it right they should continue.
"To be fair the president said to me about the staff here and he outlined them. We knew a lot of them of course, we knew the jobs they did.
"But I'm a big believer in modern football that the bulk of the staff tend to become football club appointments. And we've met the staff today – there's some terrific people here."
