The former Saints and Blackburn Rovers misfit, who scored one goal and created another in the 2-0 win over Leeds for Bolton, has nothing but praise for Strachan.
He said: "Gordon would definitely do a good job at Leeds. You only have to look at what he has achieved at Southampton to know that.
"He has a passion that rubs off on players. Southampton have a small squad but he gets the best out of his players.
"The first thing he will do if he moves to Leeds is to get them really fit so they can last 95 minutes or so and not concede goals.
"I don't know what Gordon wants to do. You would have to ask him.
"Southampton are doing well, it's a great place to be, but if he wants to leave and go to Leeds that's up to him.
"You could tell Leeds were a team low on confidence when we beat them on Saturday, so a new manager going in there will have his hands full."
