Alan Smith has been charged with misconduct following violent behaviour in the Worthington Cup clash with Chelsea on the 28th of November last year. He is alleged to have body-checked Graeme Le Saux.
Mark Viduka has been charged with misconduct following violent behaviour during the Premiership clash with Arsenal on the 20th of January this year. He is alleged to have elbowed Martin Keown in the face.
Viduka should expect a one-match-ban if found guilty (the same as dished out to Arsenal defender Martin Keown last year following a similar incident ironically with Viduka), while Alan Smith's punishment will be considerably greater. He is already serving a lengthy suspension but may yet have to face more time on the sidelines. Both have requested personal hearings.
