Talks on Foxe's future have been put on hold but Blackwell has indicated that the former West Ham and Portsmouth defender, battling back from a career-threatening injury, could have earned himself a deal at Elland Road after his performances in pre-season.
"Hayden's been out for two years," Blackwell said before Foxe's return south. "He picked up a serious ankle injury and had two operations on it, both failed and then he went back to Australia and had a third operation. He's done some training with us and he's played some games and we'll have to see how his ankle reacts before we do anything. We're close. Hopefully I shall be having a discussion with Hayden in the next couple of days."
