The club confirmed Snodin's arrival this morning after concluding a long-running saga to bring the 48-year-old back to Elland Road.
Simon Grayson has been working to get him on board for sometime following the former Leeds left-back's departure from his previous role as first-team coach at West Ham United.
Snodin had been on 'gardening leave' from the Hammers since his departure earlier in the season, but has now accepted an offer to join Leeds after agreeing a pay-off with the London club.
Snodin made 113 appearances for the Whites and featured in the squads who won promotion from Division Two in 1990 and the Division One title in 1992.
He becomes the second addition to Grayson's backroom team following the arrival of former Blackburn Rovers academy coach Ian Miller on Boxing Day.
