Eddie Gray today tried to pick up the squad with another crucial game against Spurs next in line on Saturday.
He said in the Yorkshire Evening Post: "We have to turn the corner and quickly.
"It was another disappointing result. Wherever we go I expect us to pick points up, but that never happened. We've got to start doing it very quickly.
"In the second half we gradually got back into the game.
"We took it to them and had a couple of opportunities, but you can keep saying that.
"It was disappointing, but it's not about performances, it's about picking points up.
"We've got to win matches and it's not happening now so we've got to turn the corner very quickly.
"I have the confidence and belief that we can get out of the position we're in, but the players must believe that themselves.
"You can try and instill that belief in the players. You tell them that but they have got to have it themselves. That's the important thing.
"I think they still have that belief and feel we have a chance.
"We can't rely on other sides. If we don't do the job ourselves then we don't deserve to get out.
"Tottenham is a big game on Saturday, but they're all big games now. That's how it is when you're in the position we're in."
