Domi completed a strenuous medical on Tuesday night and will link up with his new team-mates in training this week before travelling to Dublin for United's final two pre-season games.
Harte has made 262 appearances for Leeds and seen off a series of possible replacements at left back during the past few years. Hartey’s ability to score goals is a key weapon in his armoury and he possesses a wicked left foot shot that is particularly effective in dead ball situations.
Lee Sharpe, Danny Granville, Raul Bravo, David Robertson and even Jason Wilcox have all been preferred to Harte at some stage but the Republic of Ireland full back has always won back his place in the team.
Domi can also play on the left side of midfield where Wilcox usually operates.
The Frenchman started his career at Paris Saint-Germain before joining Newcastle in 1998 and he made 70 appearances for the NorthEast club, scoring 4 goals. He returned to PSG in 2001 but was only used sparingly by PSG's then coach Luis Fernandez last season.
Domi is under contract with PSG until June 2006, but does not figure in the plans of new coach Vahid Halilhodzic, and is hoping to revive his career in England.
There are suspects over Domi's temperament, however, and former team-mate John Anderson has warned Leeds: "If things don't go well at Leeds, if the team struggles he may storm out and decide he wants to go to France.
"I know he is there for 12 months but I wouldn't put a lot of money on him playing all that time."
