The 21-year-old centre-half, who has not played since the Carling Cup win over Hartlepool on September 23 because of a groin injury, underwent another operation on the problem last week.

Simon Grayson said: "He was recovering and had a week's training with us again but had a setback. So he's now undergone surgery and will be out for a couple of months again."
