Elding joined Leeds from Stockport County for an undisclosed fee on Thursday, completing the most high-profile transfer of his career at the age of 25.
The striker made his mark at Boston United and then Stevenage Borough before moving to Stockport at the beginning of last year, and his eye-catching performances within the Football League paid off when Gary McAllister offered him a two-and-a-half year deal at Elland Road.
Elding's opportunity was earned after scoring 15 goals for Stockport this season, and he described himself as "a proud man" after winning a transfer to a club who the majority of his relatives support.
Elding said: "My family are all Leeds United fans and they said that one day they hoped I'd play for Leeds. It's come on the back of a lot of hard work. I played at Boston and Stevenage in non-league, and I worked my way up. I feel the hard work has given me the opportunity. I'm a proud man."
