Jewell watched the match at Crewe on Monday night, fuelling claims that he was looking at Beckford, with a view to making a bid for the striker.
But, following Wise's comments that Leeds are a 'bigger club' than Derby, Jewell has denied any interest, stating Beckford is not the quality of player he is looking for.
"I would not make any comment about that (Wise's comments) because I think it is disrespectful for a manager to talk about other teams unless they are saying nice things," he says in the Yorkshire Post. "I wouldn't say anything about Leeds United other than to say I have got no interest in Jermaine Beckford. He had a good spell at Scunthorpe last year.
"He is having a decent season so far but, with all respect to Jermaine Beckford, I am looking for better players than that."
