Two of the big influences on Leeds' season so far are Schmeichel, son of Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel, and defender Alex Bruce, the son of former Red Devils captain Steve Bruce.
Schmeichel said: "That is something you lot can use as headlines, but it does not mean anything to me. I haven't spoken to my dad about his days with Steve Bruce, and I didn't feel I had to win the fans over here, because of the United connections .
"These are things the media like to focus on, but they have nothing to do with me. I am here to play football, and I am confident in my ability, just as I would be at any other club.
"It doesn't bother me at all who else is in the team, but since you ask, I think Alex has done great. He is playing really well. He is in the side every week and is developing a good partnership with Andy O'Brien, so we just try and keep it going."
