The Australian international, who has been capped five times by his country, made more than 100 league appearances during four years at Leicester, who he joined on a free transfer from Hearts in 2005.
The 28-year-old should be in contention to make his United debut when Leeds play Blackburn Rovers in a friendly at Elland Road on Saturday.
