The former Stockport striker has vowed to prove his doubters wrong after being booed as Leeds beat his old club at Elland Road.
Dickinson joined the Whites on loan until the end of the season from Derby, hoping to help United win promotion to the Championship via the play-offs.
With top scorer Jermaine Beckford missing with a thigh problem, Dickinson missed a couple of chances and was jeered off by a minority of fans when substituted four minutes from time.
Dickinson has admitted he has much to prove to both himself and the fans following a campaign disrupted by injuries and he said: "I felt fit but I am disappointed with my performance. I just feel there is a lot more to my game but if the fans were on my back and decide to boo me off then that's their problem.
"It doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to me but I'm just disappointed in my own performance, the fans don't affect me at all.
"I couldn't have done anything else with my chance in the first half. I got in and got my toe to it and it's come off the bar, a little bit lower and it's in but at least I managed to get there.
"But it's my overall performance that I'm disappointed in. I just need to get a chance. I have just got to prove to myself and the fans that I can produce. One goal and the others will flow."
