The Whites bid to get Hulse on a three-month loan deal from West Brom came under pressure yesterday as Wigan, Ipswich and Sunderland made late bids, but he opted for a move to Elland Road.
The deal is expected to keep Hulse in Yorkshire until the end of the Championship season but is also understood to include an option to complete a permanent deal when the loan agreement expires.
Hulse rejected a move to Stoke last month after they had agreed a fee with West Brom, while QPR were keen on signing the former Crewe forward on loan earlier in the season.
