Wise was discussing a suggestion that Leeds' leading scorer this season, Jermaine Beckford, might be on his way out of Elland Road to Pride Park.
Wise said: "Derby haven't put in any enquiries. And if I'm being totally honest why would you go from Leeds to Derby? You wouldn't. This is a much bigger club than Derby. I understand where we are and where they are."
Wise was keen to stress that despite his club currently playing in the the third tier of English football, they were aiming to reclaim their place among the Premier League elite.
He said: "I've been in this job just over a year and a lot has happened. There's places we want to go. That's out of this division and out of the next one as quick as possible. They're our ambitions and it's what we want to do."
