As Leeds look to strengthen their forward and defensive line, following the news that Richard Cresswell will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing knee surgery and with Matthew Kilgallon also battling against an ongoing injury problem, Blackwell is keen to find additional cover to mount one final push for automatic promotion from the Championship.
Noel-Williams was dubbed the ‘new John Barnes’ as a teenager at Watford before injury curtailed his progress at Vicarage Road. He netted 41 goals in 193 appearances for the Hornets but the Islington-born forward suffered an injury-hit 2002-03 campaign, failing to find the target after starting only eight league games and he was released by them at the end of that season and Stoke City moved quickly to sign the striker, with no fee involved.
He scored 23 goals for the Potters in 91 appearances but rejected an offer of a new contract and he joined Burnley on a two-year-deal in June 2005.
The 26-year-old has only scored twice in 31 appearances at Turf Moor with his most recent outings mainly as a substitute as manager Steve Cotterill opts for a 4-5-1 formation.
Nigerian-born Sodje joined Brentford in May 2004 from non-league Margate, having previously played for Stevenage and the defender is a huge crowd favourite at Griffin Park.
Southampton, Fulham, Blackburn, West Ham, Norwich and West Brom have all been linked with Sodje in the past but the 25-year-old has so far stayed loyal with Martin Allen’s team.
Allen revealed earlier this month that Sodje had even turned down a deadline-day move to the Saints after both clubs had agreed a fee.
