Leeds predicted lineup vs Southampton - Premier League

Leeds United will be looking to make it three Premier League wins on the spin when they host out-of-form Southampton on Saturday.

The Whites have beaten Norwich and Wolves narrowly in their last two games, just reward for their vast improvement since Jesse Marsch took over at Elland Road.

With several first-team players back in contention this weekend, here is the starting XI the American coach seems most likely to select...

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Illan Meslier (GK) - Should easily shake off a thigh problem in time for this one. Has a disappointing save percentage of 64.2 this season.

Luke Ayling (RB) - One of Marcelo Bielsa's most trusted lieutenants, but was terrible during the dying ember of El Loco's reign. He has looked more solid recently in his favoured full-back position.

Robin Koch (CB) - Liam Cooper is back in full training and in contention to start, but it is likely too early for him here. Koch has had a mixed campaign so far.

Diego Llorente (CB) - Leeds' most expensive defender may need to start proving his worth.

Stuart Dallas (LB) - Always reliable, Leeds will be thankful that Dallas only started one of Northern Ireland's two games during the international break.

2. Midfielders

Kalvin Phillips (CM) - He may only have just returned from an injury layoff, but Phillips is so important he will almost certainly be included from the start here.

Adam Forshaw (CM) - A tidy, if slightly boring, midfielder who has come back strongly from a lengthy spell on the sidelines this season.

Rodrigo (AM) - Not the most prolific but does so much off the ball and links things nicely.

3. Forwards

Raphinha (RW) - Linked with a whole hosts of top clubs, Leeds remain confident of keeping the Brazilian beyond the end of the season.

Daniel James (ST) - Has been forced to play almost the entire season out of position. James, more than anyone, will be relishing the imminent return of Patrick Bamford.

Jack Harrison (LW) - Victor Orta revealed this week that Leeds had all but sealed a loan move for Harvey Barnes in 2018, before eventually settling on Harrison. The rest is history.
