Special strike against Peterborough wins award.
Patrick Bamford has been awarded with Leeds United’s Goal of the Season for his wonder-strike against Peterborough United in the FA Cup Third Round.
With the Whites a goal to the good at the Weston Homes Stadium, the Leeds number nine controlled Ethan Ampadu’s long pass superbly on his chest, before unleashing a fierce volley from 25 yards out which flew past a helpless Fynn Talley in the Posh net.
Daniel Farke’s side would go on to win the tie 3-0 in Cambridgeshire, with Ampadu himself grabbing a brace as Leeds booked their spot in the Fourth Round.
January proved to be a fruitful month for Bamford, who was also on target in the Sky Bet Championship against Birmingham City, Cardiff City and Norwich City.
Also nominated for the award were Joel Piroe (vs Millwall), Georginio Rutter (vs Swansea), Dan James (vs Hull City) and Crysencio Summerville (vs Norwich and vs Watford).
