The 21-year-old left-back has impressed during his loan at Leeds, making five starts since his arrival in mid-January.
However, he is now wanted back at the Britannia Stadium, where he will look to add to his three Premier League appearances for Stoke.
City boss Tony Pulis said in the Stoke Sentinel: "He's done very well over the past month according to the reports we've been getting. We're grateful to Leeds for giving him that chance but now we think it's the right time to bring him back here because Carl is very much a part of the future of this club and we want to get him involved again."
