The Sun says Leeds have put out discreet feelers to the Tynecastle chief after the Eddie Gray was sacked yesterday. Chairman Gerald Krasner has Levein’s name high on the shortlist as he launches the search for the right man to lead Leeds back into the Premier League. Leeds want a young, hungry but still experienced coach and the Scot has been recommended to them by a boardroom advisor. Former skipper Gordon Strachan also fits the criteria, along with Crystal Palace boss Iain Dowie and Wigan’s Paul Jewell. The Sun states that Leeds are set to make an official approach to speak to Levein in the next few days.
