The 6ft 5in Poland international, who has one full cap for his country, spent last season on loan at Brentford.
Szczesny, 20, made his Gunners debut last September, keeping a clean sheet in a League Cup match against West Bromwich Albion.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger sees him as a future No 1 and seems keen that his next loan period should be at a higher level.
Brentford manager Andy Scott thinks Szczesny is ready to move up. "His performances suggest that he would not be out of place in the Championship, or even the Premier League," said Scott. "It has reached the stage where, when he lets in a goal, we wonder why he hasn't saved it."
