Lowdown On Leicester
1. After going so close to promotion last season what are your ambitions for the Foxes this campaign?
Three games in and we are already in the relegation zone, ambitions are still high though with the new Thai investors coming in and a new manager in charge. I believe the new signings who are expected to come into the club this week will help somewhat, maybe a top six finish is possible but the team has to start progressing under Sousa quickly.
2. Were you surprised at Nigel Pearson leaving the club so suddenly during the close season and what are thoughts on his replacement Paulo Sousa?
It was a huge shock to see such a great servant leave the club in the manner that he did, it was more of a shock to see him move to Hull instead of a lowly ranked Premier League side. We have to move on though, Sousa's style of management has been fairly good so far, but we definitely need more signings over the next eight days.
3. Simon Grayson is a familiar face to all Leicester City fans, how did you rate him as a player and would you like him as your boss one day?
All you need to do is look at his number of appearances for City, and that will tell you he was a class player, as a boss he has been linked with Leicester City a number of times including recently when we decided to opt for Paulo Sousa. Overall wouldn't mind him to be honest.
4. Sousa could soon add to the honour of being the club's first overseas manager by having a pie named after him. Is this true?
Yes it is true, there was a feature in our local newspaper the Leicester Mercury a couple of days ago, and it will probably be a basic Puka Pie with a brass name change.
5. A Carling Cup first round win against Macclesfield seemed pretty entertaining, what were your thoughts on that 4-3 win?
I popped down to see that match, it was entertaining the team played very well against the League 2 opposition, the scoreline of course shows that Macclesfield must of played well; however two of their three goals were unstoppable headers, Leicester played very well that game, and the scoreline should of been more like 4-1 instead of 4-3.
6. Are you confident that your side will progress into the third round, with a win over Leeds United at Elland Road?
Depends who Leeds United start on the night, it will be a very tough game as our current away form suggests we will probably lose the game, it will be exceptionally tough as Leeds have bought well over the summer, I suspect extra time could be on the cards.
7. Who would you class as your best signing so far this season?
Can't answer that question yet, Tom Kennedy, Franck Moussa, Leon Crncic haven't played enough games, while Miguel Vitor faces a three week layoff. Moreno does look decent, but his heading ability signs are questionable.
8. Lastly, the all important score prediction?
I say 1-1 after full-time with Leicester sealing the win in extra time courtesy of a Steve Howard header.
