Parkin faces an immediate three-match ban and that leaves Rory Fallon as the only available striker with any first-team experience.
King agreed a loan deal with The Whites on Friday with the young Australian expected to link up with Town’s squad at training today.
The 21-year-old played against Town in the Carling Cup last week and had a spell at Chesterfield last season when he scored twice in six matches.
Speaking after Saturday’s victory, King said: "We’ve agreed with Leeds to bring the boy Jamie McMaster in. He was coming Friday but it was too late to play him today.
"Maybe I might have to bring another one in because we are, for three games, down to the bare minimum and I like to have alternatives and options. At the moment I’ve got no options."
