Ugandan newspaper Sunday Vision report that Michael Ezra was keen to put money into the club.
Leeds' financial director Neil Robson is reported to have confirmed to the paper that the club had been in contact with Ezra over his interest.
But when contacted by the BBC, Leeds refused to comment further.
"We are still trying to find out a few things about Ezra and there are a few things we want to tell him but unfortunately he has not come back to us," Robson told the government-backed paper.
