It reads;
We can confirm that a mutual agreement has been reached for Nicola Salerno to depart the club from his role as Sporting Director.
Leeds United would like to thank Nicola for his efforts over the past year and he will always be welcomed back to Elland Road in the future.
Salerno, who was brought over from Italy by owner Massimo Cellino, had a further year left to run on his contract with Leeds, but has agreed to terminate it ahead of time; he has been linked with taking up a role at Palermo.
The Italian's parting gift to Leeds was to arrange a permanent deal for defender Sol Bamba.
Salerno personally conducted talks with Bamba over the phone to convince the Ivorian to agree to a permanent contract with the Whites.
Leeds confirmed the arrival of Bamba earlier today.
