Everton still have to meet three of the bottom six, Blackburn, Wolves and Manchester City, in their last five games and Martyn has promised to try to help Leeds by taking points off them.
"I do feel a tad guilty about my performance," said Martyn. "I had a decent game and hopefully I can do Leeds a favour in return by playing well until the end of the season against the sides close to them.
"I enjoyed the whole night. From my reception, right through the game to the end, the fans were superb."
Martyn, who needed three stitches for a cut knee after colliding with Alan Smith, says Leeds have a great chance to stay up.
"If Leeds continue to play like that they can win most of their remaining games," he said. "They have two tough away games in Arsenal and Chelsea, but at home they will beat most teams on this evidence."
