Steve Parkin, chief executive of the Brighouse-based Clipper Group, is currently going through the process of examining Leeds' financial records.
Parkin is understood to be edging closer to a buy-out from chairman Krasner and the current board, who only concluded their own £23m takeover of the club on March 19.
He said: "Rumours are rife that a deal has been signed with Steve Parkin but that is not the case. Yes, the board have spoken to him, as we have with several parties looking to invest in Leeds United.
"I would like to reiterate that there is no 'done deal'. Our number one priority at the moment is to appoint a team manager who can get Leeds United back into the Premiership."
