Rossato, 29, formerly of Porto and Sporting Braga, would have no problems playing in England as he holds an Italian passport.
His agent, Jose Vaiga, has confirmed talks have already taken place, although it remains to be seen if the parties can reach an agreement.
"We hope everything will be decided this week," said Rossato in The Sun.
