The former England international comes from Hull, but although Pearson admitted to have spoken to the player, a deal is most unlikely.
"Nicky is a quality player and we did make enquiries but it's out of the question," Pearson said.
"He still has two-and-a-half years of a fantastic contract to go at Leeds. He's 29 and he's not going to walk away from that.
"I don't know what his plans are but he's way, way out of our league. His wages would probably match what our entire squad earns."
