Pitch Won't Be Cut Up - Official

Millennium Stadium officials are likely to close the roof because of the weather when Biarritz play Munster in the Heineken Cup final in Cardiff today to avoid the pitch becoming badly cut up.

The ten-strong ground staff will replace any larger blemishes with spare turf, working overnight. "We expect some scarring but I am confident that the pitch won't be cut up," Paul Sergeant, the chief executive, says in The Times.
