Radebe, now 39, has been invited as a guest of honour at United's home game against Swindon Town on March 14.
It would be the first match he has attended at Elland Road since the death of his 34-year-old wife, Feziwe, from bowel cancer last October.
United are also making plans to hold a tribute dinner for Radebe the night before the game. Part of the proceeds from the event are to go to a cancer research foundation.
Ken Bates announced the provisional plans for the former Whites skipper's return in his programme notes for the game against Southend United.
Radebe is scheduled to travel to Europe in March in his role as an ambassador for the 2010 World Cup, which is being held in South Africa.
'The Chief' made 200 league appearances for Leeds between 1994 and 2005.
