The managing director acknowledges that it will cost money to get rid of some squad players as the club look to cut their huge wage bill and rebuild in Division One.
"We have received offers for our footballers, a substantial amount of them and many from the country's top clubs," said Richmond. "We will sell our players for the top money."
Competition for the likes of Alan Smith, Mark Viduka and Paul Robinson should drive up their value. Others, meanwhile, are average players on generous salaries and long contracts, given by previous Elland Road boards, meaning clubs are unlikely to be willing to take them off Leeds' hands.
"There is not a lot you can do with players who refuse to budge," added Richmond. "The players who are ambitious, who are considering their own careers, if offers come for those players, they will leave.
"When players leave, this club will maximise the amount of money it can get from them. For some players, that maximum may be minus but for other players it may be significant plusses.
"Some clubs are trying to nick players, some clubs are offering genuine money. It is up to us to make sure that they offer the correct amount of money. Players have the ultimate say, though, they are under contract."
