But he thinks his cameo performance wasn't strong enough to guarantee him a place in the starting line-up for the African Nations Cup quarter-final against Tunisia on Saturday.
The 26-year-old came on as a sub in the 64th minute for Mamadou Niang in the 1-1 draw with Mali but had little chance to shine.
"I had been sitting on the bench and I watched my teammates give everything," Sakho said.
"I wanted to do the same, to play and give something to the team.
"I hadn't played for two weeks so I was a little tired.
"I am happy to have played but also disappointed because physically I am missing a little sharpness.
"I have time to prepare and my rhythm is going to come little by little. Now I will also take on a lot of individual physical work to try and find that rhythm.
"I would love to play in the match against Tunisia. It is such a big game and I will do everything I can to be there."
