If United are firstly to win promotion to the Premiership and secondly stay there, they need to hold on to good young players like Kilgallon – not go around touting them to the highest bidder.
We were told some time ago that the financial situation had improved and that there was no need for any more 'forced sales', but the departure of Simon Walton and now Peter being prompted to prepare United fans for the loss of Kilgallon put paid to that suggestion.
Peter expresses the hope that there will be no backlash against the club if Kilgallon is sold, but I can promise him there will be, because United fans are fed up with the seemingly never-ending loss of our prize assets.
Crystal Palace spent two seasons in the Championship resisting the loss of Andy Johnson to Premiership clubs before finally succumbing this year, so there's no reason why United can't do likewise – if the will to do so exists.
So then Ken, are you a man or a mouse? If an offer comes just say NO.
